COLUMBUS, OH (4-30-09) - ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series (ALWTS) veteran crew chief Tom Cumbow and series rookie Shawn Szep have announced that they will unite for the ALWTS event at Toledo Speedway on May 16th.
Szep, from Marysville, Ohio, will team up with ACME Speed Shop and Cumbow to drive the No.1 Eye-Catcher Charters-Kendall Motor Oil Chevrolet Colorado for the event.
"I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to drive this truck," said Szep. "This is the first time I have ever drove in a series like this and I know there will be a learning curve. The main goal for me will be to stay out of trouble and finish the race with the truck in one piece."

TOLEDO OH (4-28-09) - When times were economically better, sponsorship announcements tended to get put on the back burner in favor of sportier news.
However, with the economy in the struggle mode, announcing a sponsor on any level has become as newsworthy as anything - maybe even more so.
West Harrison, Indiana driver Kenny Kirsch, Jr., who finished 13th in ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series points in his rookie 2008 season, has announced title sponsorship from Legend Batteries for the entire 2009 season.

TOLEDO, Ohio (April 24, 2009)-Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania is the latest facility to announce an ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series race date in 2009, officials from the Automobile Racing Club of America and Lake Erie Speedway announced.
The regionally touring ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will contest a 100-lap race at the 3/8-mile short track on August 29, joining a growing list of seven other race tracks that are part of the 2009 tour. The Series is currently scheduled to visit four states and Canada this season.

TOLEDO OH (3-7-09) - ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series veteran Steve Christman will be 62 years young this September, and he is a long way from retirement.
"Retirement is the last thing on my mind," said Christman, who lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
"I live for racing. It's what I think about all winter. I don't golf; I don't drink; I don't play around. I work hard. Other than that, racing is what I do. It's what I want to do."
|
TOLEDO OH (2-25-09) - Bill Withers is the only driver in ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series history who has competed in every championship race since the series inception in 1999 - that would be 126 consecutive events and counting.
It's his ace in the hole, and it's what keeps him coming back for more.
"I hate to quit now," said the 52-year-old two-time series champion. "That doesn't mean I haven't thought about it. I suppose my attitude's changed some. It takes the right attitude to get excited about this, especially when you consider how long I've done it."

DAYTONA BEACH FL (1-21-09) - The ARCA RE/MAX Series isn't the only connection an ARCA entity has with Daytona Int'l Speedway. As it turns out, the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series is part of the show too, compliments of ARCA Truck veteran Nick Gullatta, who is burning up the speed charts in the Koni Sports Car Challenge practice sessions in preparation for Saturday's "Roar Before the Rolex 24" at the World Center of Racing.

ST. LEON IN (12-22-08) - Finding marketing partners is crucial to racing fulltime in any professional touring series. The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series is no exception for Bischoff Racing.
Despite challenging economic times, Bischoff Racing is happy to announce that PartBuddy.com will be a sponsor on Bischoff's no. 15 Ford Ranger in 2009.
PartBuddy.com is an OEM part supplier wholesaler serving mainly smaller independent repair facilities that don't have the buying power of the larger garages.

Awesome Banquet!
GROVE CITY OH (11-22-08) - The tenth annual Lincoln Welders Truck Series Banquet was the best yet! As Leslie Withers mentioned to me, "we have come a long way since the days when we shared the spotlight with the midget series!" No question about that!!
I think one of the coolest things this year was how much better the video presentations were! The intro video really rocked and I believe it showed just about every truck that competed in the series this year. The slides that were shown for each of the top ten in points were excellent! Each slide consisted of a large picture of the driver along with a smaller picture of their truck. When 2008 Champion Paul Hahn came to the stage another outstanding video was played that showed numerous shots of him and his truck in action during the season.

TOLEDO OH (11-13-08) - It's banquet season - time to trade in the race wear for the party suit. Time to trade in the tools for trophies. Time to trade in the attitude for atmosphere; and time to pocket some hard-earned, well-deserved cash from the year-long race grind.
