Rookie Matt Hawkins Mighty Quick in Morning Testing at Nashville Superspeedway

hawkinshs08.jpgNASHVILLE TN (7-22-08) - Canton, Georgia's Matt Hawkins unofficially posted the quickest speed in morning testing Tuesday at Nashville Superspeedway where 18 drivers took part in on-track activity in preparation for the upcoming Saturday afternoon, August 9th Toyota 150.

Hawkins, in the no. 39 JaniKing-Racing Radios Dodge, circled the 1.33-mile concrete oval in 29.600 seconds, for an average speed of 161.757 mph. Hawkins, a rookie on the 2008 tour, is coming off a solid sixth place finish last Friday night at Kentucky Speedway. Hawkins first made headlines in the series back in April at Iowa Speedway where he won in his career-first series start. In four career series starts, he has three top-10 finishes including a fourth place finish at Rockingham Speedway.

Kentucky Post-Race Penalties Issued

Based on post-race technical inspection after Friday's Kentukcy 150 ARCA RE/MAX Series race event at Kentucky Speedway, the Sharp Racing Enterprises #2 team has been fined $1500 and team owner Eddie Sharp and driver Scott Speed have been penalized with the loss of 25 championship points. The penalties were issued for violation of the rear quarter panel height rule per the 2008 ARCA Rulebook.


Brett Hudson Fights For Top-20 Finish At Kentucky

HOLLAND, Michigan (July 21, 2008) - - Officials from Sheltra Motorsports announced today that Holland, Michigan based Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant will join the Whitesville, Kentucky ARCA RE/MAX Series organization as the primary marketing partner for the No. 60 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS and driver Patrick Sheltra for Saturday's Berlin ARCA 200 at Berlin Raceway.


Stenhouse, Jr., to Race USAC Silver Crown Car for Carl Edwards in Indiana this Week

stenhouse.jpgConcord, N.C. (July 21, 2006) - Roush Fenway Racing up-and-comer Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is coming into his own in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. He's been leading the point standings since May following his first career stock car win at Kentucky but his love for open wheel racing has not faded. This week, prior to the "Berlin ARCA 200" at Berlin Raceway, Stenhouse will stop in Indiana to race Carl Edwards' USAC Silver Crown car. Stenhouse will race the No. 199 Carl Edwards/R.E. Technologies car at the Terre Haute Action track on Wednesday then at O'Reilly Raceway Park (ORP) on Thursday.

Casola Looks Forward to Return to Berlin with ARCA

HOLMDEL, NJ July 21, 2008 . . . Last year Dominick Casola was on his way to at least a top 10 finish at Berlin Raceway (Marne, Michigan) when another competitor changed his plans. Casola, driving the Andy Belmont owned A.Casola Farms Ford, got caught up in someone else's miscue and that ended his outstanding run toward the front.


Top 10 Finish for KBIII Thwarted by Last Lap Accident

SPARTA, Ky. (July 18, 2008) - Ken Butler, III started under the Friday night lights of Kentucky Speedway in the 12th position. Just as KBIII was coming to the checkered flag with a top 10 finish in sight on the final lap, contact sent the No. 22 Aaron's Lucky Dog Toyota into the wall. Butler finished the Kentucky ARCA 150 in the 28th position.
