ARCA RE/MAX Series
Mooresville, NC (Oct. 27, 2009)- ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Matt Merrell has recently teamed up with Activ8 Communications in Mooresville, North Carolina. The 24-year-old driver, originally from Portland, Texas, began driving dwarf cars six years ago right after graduating high school. Though some may consider that a later start than normal, Merrell's career has begun to take off thanks to his outstanding driving abilities.

Bobby Jones, who was a winning car owner/crew chief and fielded cars as a team owner in the ARCA RE/MAX Series for over 20 years, died Wednesday, October 21 on Amelia Island, Florida.
He was 62, and had battled a series of medical issues for the past several years.

(10-26-09) - SPEED TV commentator and NASCAR/ARCA veteran driver Phil Parsons will host the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series championship awards banquet Saturday night, December 5th at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Kentucky. Parsons, the younger brother of the late Benny Parsons, serves as color commentator for all the ARCA RE/MAX Series telecasts on SPEED as well as all the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series broadcasts. In addition to making over 200 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts and nearly 300 Nationwide Series starts, Parsons posted one ARCA victory during his career at North Wilkesboro Speedway.

(10-22-09) - In 2004, Ryan Hemphill took the ARCA RE/MAX Series by storm. In just 14 starts as a development driver for Ganassi Racing, the rookie roared into town earning six wins in only 14 starts. That means he won an astonishing 43% of all the races he entered, the same percentage (wins to starts) that rookie Parker Kligerman put up in 2009.

What started as grandfather Tony Venturini's local dream racing jalopies at Soldier Field in Chicago evolved into a full-fledged ARCA racing operation out of Concord, North Carolina. Two-time series champions' Bill and Cathy Venturini have been at the root of the growth of Venturini Motorsports while their son Billy further grooms the family dynasty. Billy Venturini will lead off on tonight's edition of "Inside ARCA" at 8:00 PM ET. Back by popular demand, Penske Racing's Chris Carrier, who crew chiefed Parker Kligerman to a series-high 9 wins in 2009, follows Venturini in the line-up. ARCA RE/MAX Series veteran Darrell Basham, who finished 12th in driver points in 2009, will join the program in the final segment. TOLEDO, Ohio (October 20, 2009)-Eddie Sharp Racing's Justin Lofton didn't earn the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship by pacing around the back of the field in ARCA RE/MAX Series races. He won by leading laps-a lot of laps. In fact, Lofton was the Aaron's Lap Leader in 2009, leading a series' high 1,005 laps in 15 of 21 races. He's now part of an elite group of just four drivers who have led more than 1,000 laps in a single season of ARCA competition since 1978.

TOLEDO OH (10-18-09) - From the raceday attire to tuxedos, the ARCA RE/MAX Series is shifting gears from race season to banquet season.
That means it's time to formally honor the ARCA RE/MAX Series teams who performed at the top of their game in 2009. In the series most competitive era and with s host of compelling story lines, the series will take center stage Saturday night, December 5th at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Kentucky, just south of Cincinnati, Ohio.

CONCORD NC (10-16-09) - 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series driving champion Justin Lofton is going camping this weekend - at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Lofton, who secured the '09 crown last weekend at Rockingham by a slim five point margin over Parker Kligerman, is taking this weekend off, sort of.
"I look at this as a vacation/networking opportunity," said Lofton.

In a battle down to the final lap at Rockingham Speedway last Sunday, Lofton defeated rookie Parker Kligerman for the 2009 driving title by five points, the third closest margin in series history. Sharp, owner of Eddie Sharp Racing, also secured the car owner title while Lofton's crew chief Mark Rette earned the Cometic Crew Chief of the Year honors. Car owner Eddie Sharp knew that his team had quite a task in front of them on Sunday after his driver Justin Lofton, the points leader entering the season-ending American 200, was forced to surrender a second place starting position for the start of the race after an engine change. Despite taking the green flag from the 41st spot, Lofton maneuvered his way through the field to finish third, locking up the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series championship by just five points over race winner Parker Kligerman.
