1980-JUNIOR HANLEY TAKES TOLEDO OPENER
Canadian Junior Hanley opened the 1980 season at Toledo Speedway by taking the 20-lap late model feature. Hanley, in the Hanley Enterprises Camaro, set a new track record at 16.25, eclipsing John Anderson's previous mark.

First time winners abounded last weekend ...Bryce Thompsen got his first win, leading the entire Figure 8 feature at Toledo on Friday night.

There will be an open practice at Flat Rock Speedway on Wednesday, May 20, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Buckeye 305 Super Sprint feature Friday night on Western Lake Erie Insulation
Industry-Local 45 Night in front of a good crowd, despite another Friday night
of rain and threatening weather. The
show was halted for about 20 minutes while the track dried, but the rain held
off long enough to complete the race card.
All kids to age 14 were admitted free and received a free hot dog, chips
and a drink, courtesy of Sherwood Foods, Seyfert’s Potato chips and the Dr.
Pepper/Snapple Group.

TOLEDO, OH (5-12-09)-- What's up at Toledo Speedway? How about 5 racing events in 10 days; the Buckeye Super Sprints this Friday, the K-100 presented by All Sport ARCA Lincoln Welders Trucks Series race Saturday and a trio of NASCAR drivers in town for this Sunday's Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care for the ARCA RE/MAX Series event, with Ken Schrader and Paul Menard racing and David Ragan signing autographs.

TOLEDO, OH (5-8-09)-- A pleasant day turned into a cloudy and eventually a rainy evening at Toledo Speedway for the first Friday night show of the season. A good crowd sat through the rain that began just after qualifying at 7 p.m. The BCSN/Tim Hortons/Toledo Blade season opener started 20 minutes late and was pushed along as quickly as possible.

Flat Rock, MI (5-9-09)-- Despite plunging temperatures, brisk winds and an early rain shower, Flat Rock Speedway completed its Ray Hunter Florist-sponsored Mother's Day Special event Saturday evening. A brief rain set in at 3 p.m., but track officials decided to march on with the program. The rain stayed to the north of the track and the fans that did brave the elements witnessed an exciting night of racing. Eric Lee, Jerry Lee, Randy DeMaggio and Jim Stocker captured feature wins. Each mom received free admission for the night and a carnation, courtesy of Ray Hunter Florist.

TOLEDO OH (5-6-09)--Officials from ARCA, Toledo Speedway and Cumulus Radio in Toledo have announced that WKKO "K-100" has signed on as the title sponsor of the Saturday afternoon, May 16, ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series event at Toledo Speedway.

Charles Orns, the father of Toledo Speedway photographer Charlie Orns, passed away May 2 at age 65. His birthday was May 3. Mr. Orns and his wife, Peggy, assisted Charlie at the track by selling photos for their son.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (5-2-09): Week number 2 of the 2009 racing season at Flat Rock Speedway maintained a level of great competition in all 3 classes. Corrigan Oil served as sponsor the night and guests of the track included our military and veterans for Armed Forces Appreciation Night. Steve Cronenwett Jr., Robbie Loving, Randy DeMaggio and James Rae took feature wins on a cool and windy evening.

TOLEDO, OH (5-1-09)-- A beautiful morning turned into
clouds and rain as Mother Nature put the damper on Toledo Speedway's
Friday night opener. The pit area had opened when the rains hit the
track around 4:30 p.m. After 40 minutes of rain, the decision was made
to call it a night.

TOLEDO, Ohio (May 1, 2009)-Meridian Entertainment and Toledo Speedway announced today that founding member of The Allman Brothers Band, Dickey Betts and Great Southern, will headline the 2009 Toledo Speedway Jam on Saturday, July 18, 2009.

It was probably one of the warmest opening nights we've had in several years. I like many fans probably wondered if we'd have some sparse numbers of cars this year with all the economic problems. There were 38 in the Street Stock division; 19 in the Super Late Models and 18 Figure 8's. For the Figure 8's that was one of the largest fields on opening night for several years.
