FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-22-09): Red and yellow were the colors of the night Saturday at Flat Rock Speedway as numerous incidents throughout the night made for a long evening. A good crowd turned out for the Stoney Creek Auto Parts/Monroe Evening News Kid's Night on a cloudy and cool night. Dan Ford Jr., Jeremy Miller, Lonnie York and Chance Rice took their respective feature wins. Kevin Butzin of Stoney Creek presented the trophies to the victors.

TOLEDO, OH: (8-21-09): A hearty group of fans and race teams endured a nearly 1 hour rain delay Friday evening at Toledo Speedway. Just as the Glass Bowl Lanes Autograph session was concluding, the skies opened up, backing up the racing card. The program was altered to keep things moving and an action-packed night of racing took place. Terry Jones, Cory McCaughey, Ryan Beabout, Perry Marlow and Dennis Whisman took their respective features. Glass Bowl boss Ron Gorney presented trophies in the Glass Bowl Lanes Winner's Circle.

Paul Pelletier won his first feature of the season and celebrated by doing a 'Polish Victory Lap'. "It was a good race. I had enough of those guys ... it was time to go and start winning races. I want to wish Allison a Happy Birthday. Also want to thank all my sponsors, ABC Plumbing, Jaimes Industries, Exotic Automation. Four Star Steel, Dusty's Collision and Berringer Law," said Pelletier. It was his fifth career win.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-19-09): With just 3 point races left in the 2009 season, the action is sure to heat up at Flat Rock Speedway. It picks up again this Saturday, August 22 with the 100 lap Street Stock race and a 50 lap Figure 8 main topping the slate, goes to August 29 with the return of the Late Models to the mix and culminates with the Season Championships September 5, complete with a Fireworks show!

TOLEDO, OH: (8-19-09): Glass Bowl Lanes will host Autograph Night this Friday, August 21 at Toledo Speedway. The 4 division of race cars will be parked on the track and race fans will be permitted to walk onto the racing surface to meet the drivers! The All Sport Season Championships are set for Friday, August 28.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-15-09): A large crowd turned out to meet NASCAR driver David Ragan Saturday night as part of the Leppen Chiropractic/United Way of Monroe County Night at Flat Rock Speedway. Ragan spoke to the crowd and signed autographs for over an hour. On the track, Paul Pelletier, Robbie Loving, Dan Ford Jr. and Jimmy Rae notched feature wins. Former racers were introduced to the crowd and several vintage race cars took laps prior to the start of the race card. A large contingent of firefighters from Monroe County was on hand as guests of the speedway.

TOLEDO, OH: (8-14-09): For the most part, the large crowd that ventured to Toledo Speedway came to see NASCAR star Kyle Busch. Scott Hantz had his own ideas and has a big fan following that cheered him on, however, as Hantz made it 4 for 4 at the Glass City oval by capturing the Allen Chevrolet/Crown RV and Boat Cleaner 100 for the CRA Super Series Late Models. John Ogren of Allen presented the trophy and Hantz climbed the fence after his win as the crowd roared.

TOLEDO, Ohio (August 14, 2009)--Kyle Busch took a break from testing his CRA Late Model on Thursday to speak with members of the local media on everything from short track racing to points racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Selected quotes from his interview are posted here. Busch will return to Toledo Speedway's half-mile paved oval for Friday night's CRA 100 lap Late Model Feature. Tickets are available at Toledo Speedway beginning at 3 p.m. and cost $20.

TOLEDO OH (8-13-09) - NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stars Kyle Busch and David Ragan, in town this week for the NASCAR festivities at Michigan Int'l Speedway, are returning to their short track roots this weekend at Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways.

1980-SIMKO TAKES FIRST CAREER TOLEDO WIN
Dave Simko of the racing Simko family posted his first-ever Toledo Speedway late model feature win after several years of competition. Simko started ninth and rocketed to the front, taking the top spot from Jerry Terry on lap 4. Junior Hanley shadowed Simko until dropping out on lap 28 with mechanical problems. Chuck Roumell was a distant second at the checkers, with Ed Cooper, Rick Sheppard and Bob Fox rounding out the top 5. Roumell was the fastest qualifier with a lap of 16.54 seconds, while Hanley won the 4-car dash and Simko and Royce Cornett took heat race victories.
In the sport stock feature it was Steve Cronenwett in the 15-lap feature on the ½ mile, winning over Von Manning, Greg Freed, Randy Deskins and Denny Durecki.
Crazy Dave Whisman scored his third hobby stock feature win of the season, taking the 15-lapper on the ¼ mile over Big John Whisman, Bob Studt, John Salwicz and Mike Barnhart.
