SPARTA KY (7-18-08)--Brian Scott, in the No. 25 Albertson's Chevrolet, earned his career first ARCA RE/MAX Series SIM Factory Pole Award Friday afternoon at Kentucky Speedway, circling the 1.5-mile track in 30.645 seconds for a speed of 176.211 mph. He starts on the pole alongside Michael Phelps for tonight's Kentucky ARCA RE/MAX 150, which rolls off at 8 p.m. Eastern live on SPEED. Starting Grid
"I know it's only two laps but it's important because it gives us a great start for tonight's ARCA RE/MAX Series race," said Scott. "This is kind of nostalgic because I made my first ARCA start right here at Kentucky last year. Venturini Motorsports has been a great team to work with and I plan on making five more ARCA starts this year."
Scott, who joins Justin Allgaier and John Wes Townley as drivers competing in both the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events at Kentucky Speedway this weekend, participated in a NCTS practice session immediately after earning the ARCA pole.
Robb Brent starts third in the Kentucky ARCA RE/MAX 150, alongside Matt Hawkins. Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. starts fifth, followed by Scott Speed, Frank Kimmel, Angela Cope, Ryan Fischer and Justin Allgaier.
The Kentucky ARCA RE/MAX 150, event No. 11 of the 21 race ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, is slated to roll off at 8 p.m. Eastern live on SPEED. Arcaracing.com will carry live timing and scoring.
