NOTES: The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 presented by Federated Auto Parts represents the 83rd ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Salem Speedway since 1955. No track has ever appeared more on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule over the years than Salem. Daytona winner Michael Annett leads the points headed to Salem; however, Annett is not expected to enter the Salem race. Justin Allgaier, already entered for Salem, is currently second in points. Allgaier won the most recent ARS race at Salem in September of 2007. Five time Daytona winner Bobby Gerhart is currently third in points and is expected to race at Salem. Nine-time series champion and eight-time Salem winner Frank Kimmel is also expected to race at Salem. Kimmel is currently fourth in points but is still in search of a primary sponsor to assist him in running the full season. Kimmel has not won at Salem since April of 2004. Newcomer/rookie Tom Hessert III is currently fifth in points and is already entered for the Salem race. Although Hessert will be making his career-first ARS attempt at Salem, the Cherry Hill, New Jersey driver has competed at Salem in USAC open-wheel divisions. Also entered are Eddie Sharp Racing teammates Scott Speed and Ken Butler III. Speed, driver of the Red Bull Toyota, is a veteran of the world-renowned Formula 1 circuit. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series veteran Ken Schrader has also filed an entry. In 46 career ARS starts, Schrader has 15 wins including one at Salem in 1999. Matt Carter, son of longtime NASCAR team owner/crew chief Travis Carter, is entered in the Larry Clement-owned no. 46 Ford. Clement was the car owner for all of Kimmel's nine titles. Dodge development-Cunningham Motorsports driver Tayler Malsam is also entered. Malsam is a sprint car veteran from the state of Washington. Another Cunningham Motorsports driver - rookie Michael Phelps - will be making his career-first Salem attempt. Also entered is Phoenix, Arizona's Gabi DiCarlo, former Salem polesitter Dexter Bean, newcomers' Justin Lofton, John Wes Townley, Brandon Kelley and Jeremy Petty. There has not been a repeat Salem winner since Shelby Howard swept both ARS races in 2003. Past winners at Salem include NASCAR Cup champion Bobby Allison, six-time RE/MAX Series champion Iggy Katona & former ARCA national champions Bill Baird, Tracy Leslie, Nelson Stacy, Ron Hutcherson, Ramo Stott, Dave Dayton, Moose Myers, Marvin Smith, Bob Keselowski & Bob Brevak. Other notable ARCA/Salem winners include '52 Indy 500 winner Troy Ruttman, USAC/ARCA stock car veteran Don White and Cup series regular Ken Schrader.
